Summer of 2024
We are so excited to bring back our scholarship program for the upcoming summer of 2024! This year, through a new collaboration with San Juan BOCES and the Colorado Department of Education, our program will now have two sources of scholarship funding:
General Fund
What is it?
The general scholarship fund is a continuation of last year’s Scholarship Pilot Program offering free and reduced cost summer programming to La Plata County youth
Who Qualifies?
The only expectation is that youth who apply are from families facing program costs as a barrier to enrolling their child(ren) in summer programming
Who are the Participating Programs?
The Hive DGO (General scholarships FULL)
Sail Durango (FULL)
La Plata Youth Services (limited remaining)
ESSER Fund
What is it?
The ESSER Expanded Learning Opportunities Program offers underserved students summer programs that meet their academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs at no cost
Who Qualifies?
Colorado public school students who are identified as at-risk of being disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through increasing academic and personal challenges
Who are the Participating Programs?
the Hive DGO (Limited remaining)
Southern Colorado Community Action Agency/Ignacio Youth Services
Before you Choose: Meet the Programs
Please note that each program has their own process for enrolling students, and not every organization is part of both scholarship funds, meaning your student may not qualify for all of these programs. Refer to the Scholarship Program Choice Form that will be emailed to you if your student qualifies for a scholarship to see which organizations your student can apply for. Once you fill out the program choice form, we will connect your student with the summer program of their choice for next steps.
