Our Approach

Strategy #1

Promote the importance of quality family time to encourage families to spend more quality time together

Key Actions

Recording of Facebook Live videos on topics relevant to Dove Creek families like mental health, substance use, and financial management

Creation and distribution of survey for Dove Creek Youth to better understand how they want to engage with activities at home

Development and coordination of sending take-home activities to elementary, middle, and high school students with activities to do as a family on a monthly basis

Promotion of the importance of quality family time through sending monthly take-home activities and other community-wide promotion

Increase enrollment in family and kid programs to provide support to parents

Creation and promotion of Facebook Live videos on 3 important resources to the community: Finacial Peace, Parenting Class, and LENA

Provided the Financial Peace class for free to a cohort in the spring of 2023

Our first video has special guests JP and Gwen Funk share about a few of the valuable and practical lessons they learned from the course in allowing your children to ask questions the importance of your children making mistakes early on and how to shift more responsibility as they get older .

Part 3: Increasing early talk and brain building

The third and final video of our mini series welcomes special guest Stephanie Sandoval to share about an early childhood program opportunity. Listen in to learn the value of having conversations with your little one throughout your daily routine and how simple steps have led to Stephanie’s daughter having a 6 month increase in brain development in only 10 weeks.
