Each Spring, United Way recruits volunteers in Archuleta, Dolores,
La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan Counties to invest money in the
best local nonprofit organizations. This process, called the Community
Investment process, allows participants to learn about our community's needs, to learn about
the nonprofits that are addressing those needs and then to recommend
to United Way which groups are the most worthy of funding. To learn more,
send an e-mail to Tim Walsworth
indicating your interest and state what county you live in.

United Way’s home office in Durango seeks dependable and
detail oriented volunteers to assist with administrative office
duties, especially in the Fall during our annual fundraising drive.
Duties could include coordination and preparation of bulk mailing,
assisting with processing of donations, answering phones, opening
mail, creating new process to distribute campaign support information
to local businesses, and other duties as appropriate. To learn
more, send an e-mail to Tim Walsworth indicating your interest.
