Volunteers decide each year where the annual campaign
donations are invested. A thorough review of applicant's finances,
board governance and programs is conducted to make sure your gift
is invested in organizations that are making a difference.
Donations to the 2007 campaign will support services for local people who are in need or are at-risk. In La Plata, San Juan, Montezuma and Dolores Counties, supported programs fall under at least one of six areas of need:
- Affordable Housing
- Crisis Intervention
- Education & Job Readiness
- Family Support
- Senior Services
- Youth Services
In Archuleta County, a new process was piloted prior to the 2007 campaign to better prioritize local needs. This process, called Community Impact, produced the following Community Impact agenda. Supported programs fall under at least one of the five Community Impact agenda items below:
- Helping Children and Youth Succeed
- Fostering Health and Welfare
- Developing Self-Sufficiency and Independence
- Supporting Vulnerable and Aging Populations
- Resonding to those in Crisis
