United Way recently announced how much its fundraising drive generated for local nonprofit groups. A total of $734,000 was raised with the help of thousands of donors across Southwest Colorado.

BP raised nearly $70,000 to United Way this year! Special thanks go out to all BP employees, especially Tiffany Valencia and Curtis Thomas for coordinating all the United Way activities this year.
Southern Ute Indian Tribe employees pledged over $53,000!!!! The Tribe’s Council approved an incentive to encourage employees to participate, which was an extra paid day off from work if the employee donated 1 hours worth of pay per month to United Way. Special thanks to Brian Sheffield, Gina Perino, Cathy Calderwood and Cathy Otten for their help in coordinating the campaign.
Coldwell Banker Heritage House Realtors pledged over $14,000 to United Way this year. As we know, times are tough in our local real estate markets, but to Coldwell Banker’s credit, they gave more this year than last year! Thanks to Gina Piccoli and John Mahoney for their help and support.
Wells Group employees pledged 11% more than they did last year to United Way! As noted above, this shows the generous spirit of our local realtors even in tough times.
Four Corners Broadcasting employees pledged 20% more than they did a year ago. And on top of that, they are United Way’s main partner in the annual Radiothon fundraiser which generated over $50,000 for United Way!
In Archuleta County, La Plata Electric Association employees in Pagosa Springs pledged the most of any business in County. Special thanks to Jeannie Bennett for her continued creativity in the United Way campaign at LPEA.
Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation employees pledged 39% more than last year!
Bank of the San Juans in Pagosa Springs employees pledged 26% more than last year!
In Montezuma and Dolores Counties, Bill Barrett Corporation made an unsolicited gift of $5,000!!! Thanks to Jim Felton for this support.
Empire Electric employees produced nearly $19,000 for United Way this year!! Thanks to Neil Stephens for his continued leadership.
